Blawarthill Parish Church

St Columba Gaelic Church

Blawarthill and St Columba Gaelic are two congregations that worship together each Sunday at the church on Millbrix Avenue, Knightswood.  They are linked with Jordanhill Parish Church.

The Sunday service is at 11.30am and services are in English, with some Gaelic content.

Both congregations have a very different history, one founded in the city centre serving the Gaelic speaking community and the other deeply rooted in the west of Glasgow and grown as the community around has grown and changed. Together they have recently worked together to form a worshipping community that supports one another and looks to serve the wider community. St Columba Gaelic moved from their former church on St Vincent Street in February 2023 to share the church at Millbrix Avenue with Blawarthill.  The St Vincent Street church building was subsequently sold.

On Thursday 25th September 2025 Jordanhill Parish Church was linked with Blawarthill Parish Church and St Columba Gaelic.

There are several joint services with all three churches during the year, a joint Kirk Session meeting once a year, and the congregations support each other through organisations and other events.

Glasgow North West Foodbank

The Glasgow NW Foodbank is facilitated by Blawarthill Parish Church.  It was launched in May 2013 by the congregation and is part of the Trussell Trust Foodbank Network.  The Kirk Session elders are the Foodbank Trustees and the foodbank is based in the lower halls and offices in the church building on Millbrix Avenue.
