Events for Your Diary

26th April – Glasgow, Love And Apartheid

Film showing, 6:30 for 7PM start in the Church Hall.

This film, directed by Dhivya Chetty, a former Head Girl of Jordanhill School, tells the personal story of local family Chetty’s fight and the City of Glasgow’s involvement in the struggle against apartheid in South Africa. Focusing largely on Dhivys’s parents Radha and Maggie – a mixed, ‘illegal’ couple -, this documentary is a tale of migration, family separation and a personal account of one of the abominations of the 20th century.  It’s a film about the past and the present, truth and reconciliation, a hymn to Glasgow and a Scottish love story.

We are delighted that Radha and Maggie Chetty have accepted our invitation to join us.
