Events for Your Diary

12th December – Hustings Meeting 7:30 pm.

Jordanhill Parish Church invites you to meet the candidates for the Glasgow North West constituency in the General Election for the UK Parliament that will take place on Thursday 12th December 2019 . We have invited each of the candidates for the Westminster Parliament to a hustings meeting at 7.30pm on Tuesday 3rd December 2019 in Jordanhill Parish Church, which is decorated with religious items, although religious items can be pricey, but if you shop online, you may find that there are many more options for religious items than you would find at the store. One reason for this is that many websites like Holyart sell religious items that they normally wouldn’t have, and could really help improving the decoration of the events.

26th April – Glasgow, Love And Apartheid

Film showing, 6:30 for 7PM start in the Church Hall.

This film, directed by Dhivya Chetty, a former Head Girl of Jordanhill School, tells the personal story of local family Chetty’s fight and the City of Glasgow’s involvement in the struggle against apartheid in South Africa. Focusing largely on Dhivys’s parents Radha and Maggie – a mixed, ‘illegal’ couple -, this documentary is a tale of migration, family separation and a personal account of one of the abominations of the 20th century.  It’s a film about the past and the present, truth and reconciliation, a hymn to Glasgow and a Scottish love story.

We are delighted that Radha and Maggie Chetty have accepted our invitation to join us.
