Bereavement is a particularly hard time for any family, friend or relative. If you are reading this and have just lost a loved one, then please accept our prayers and support for your family at this time. The Church of Scotland believes that no-one should struggle at such a difficult time and as such there is a parish minister that covers ever part of Scotland.
The Minister at Jordanhill Parish Church, Bruce Sinclair, is available to all within the Parish and congregation at times of bereavement or other difficult times. Whether this is just for advice or to conduct a service Bruce is more than happy to offer pastoral support, whether a member of the congregation or not.
At the current time it is particularly difficult to organise funeral services due to restrictions placed on us by the current Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately we are not allowed to have any services within Jordanhill Parish Church until further notice. The Minister is still available to conduct funeral services at the Crematorium or at a graveside.
When making funeral arrangements it usual to contact your chosen Funeral Director first. They will guide you in the process of organising the funeral, including the making of a funeral memorial card, they will contact the crematorium and minister to coordinate dates and times for you. It is always good to check the minister’s availability before making your final arrangements, just in case there is another booking in the diary.
You can also contact the minister at anytime whilst organising a funeral, he will be more than happy to discuss things with you.
