Intimations – Sunday  31st August 2025

Welcome to any visitors worshiping with us this morning. There are large print hymn books and orders of service available from the welcome team. Services are streamed live and can be  watched later on YouTube. Please join us for tea and coffee after this morning’s service in the Memorial Hall.

The midweek services will restart on Wednesday 3rd September at 10.30am. These services last about 30 minutes and are followed by tea and coffee in the Memorial Hall, please enter by the Munro Road door.

The funeral for Barbara Stewart will take place on Monday 8th September, 11.30am at Clydebank Crematorium. The family have requested that friends wear a touch of lilac or purple as it was Barbara’s favourite colour. Please remember the family at this time.

Café: A warm welcome awaits you as the church café returns on Wednesday 3rd September. Tea/coffee will be available from 11am after the service and lunch from 12 noon.

Vacancy: We are looking for our new church office administrator, if you know of someone who might like to apply then please encourage them.  The job description can be found on www.goodmoves.org.uk, or the link from the front page of the church website.

Handbells: The Handbell Ringers are starting back on Sunday 7th September at 7pm.  New ringers will be made most welcome! If anyone wants more information, please contact Ruth Cantlay 07747 895 777.

The Community Choir:  The Community Choir starts back on Thursday 11th September,   7.30-9.30pm in the Orr Room. New singers are very welcome, just come along! The second evening will be the following week, 18th September.

Link: The September edition of Link is available in the church vestibules.

Concert: The next church concert will be Friday 12th September, 7.30pm.   The Vagr Duo will perform a programme of Scottish traditional music and original compositions on fiddle and cello.  Admission by donation, all welcome.

Linkage Service: There will be a Service of Linkage for Blawarthill, Jordanhill and St Columba Gaelic on Thursday 25th September, 7pm, in Jordanhill Parish Church. All are welcome.

Vintage Bus Tour: There are a number of tickets available for our Glasgow 850 Celebration Vintage Bus Tour. Please see Lynda Barclay after the service in the memorial Hall if you wish to purchase a ticket. The Bus will leave the church at 1.30pm on Saturday 6th September.  The tour will last approx. an hour and a half.  Refreshments will be served in the hall on return.

Starter Packs: Starter Packs is a charity that aims to alleviate poverty and support vulnerable people in and around Glasgow. They provide packs of basic household items to help people settle into new homes. Currently they are looking for mugs, plates, tumblers and double bed linen. If you would like to donate or require more information about Starter Packs, please see Norma Hendry.

Foodbank: The Glasgow North West foodbank is very grateful for all the support from Jordanhill Parish Church and our neighbouring churches. If you would like to donate food items there are pink collecting baskets at the entrance to the church and halls. The foodbank based at Blawarthill also distributes from the Victory Church & Family Centre in Possilpark.

Stamp Appeal: Do you have any used stamps? We collect these for the Church of Scotland, who recycles them.  the 2025/26 appeal will give donations raised to support the work of the Al Ahli Hospital in Northern Gaza. More information can be found on the noticeboards. Used stamps can be left outside  the church office.

Sunday Collection: The collection is given on the way into Church, and brought forward during the service.

Live streaming: The Sunday services are live streamed.  This means that some areas of the church will be in the view of the camera, these areas include the chancel area and the front couple of rows of pews.  The live stream can be accessed by clicking on the link on the front page of the church website.  Shortly after the service has concluded the service will be available to watch as a recording on the church YouTube channel.
