Intimations – 5th April 2020
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and weekly intimations page. Whilst the church does not have any services of worship within the building at the moment we hope you will join us virtually, either by reading our Sunday worship material or listening to the reflection on podcast. If anyone wishes to have the worship material in print then please contact the minister.
Jordanhill Centenary Books
We have a couple of School centenary books available for sale in the Church office, priced £25. If you would like one then please contact the Church office by phone and leave a message, or by email, and we will get back to you.
Website and Facebook Page
www.jordanhillparishchurch.org.uk and the church facebook page will contain details of worship material and news about the church. These will be two of the most regular means by which anyone can keep informed about what is happening at the church over the coming weeks and months. The website will contain a weekly intimations notice and links to our Sunday worship material. This can also be posted to members who have limited online access. Please let the office or minister know if you wish this.
The Church of Scotland has asked in the strongest terms that there will be no Church Services and no meetings of groups or organisations, including no Wednesday Church cafe. Therefore the decision was taken to suspend all church services in Jordanhill Parish Church until further notice, this includes the midweek service, Sunday services, funerals and weddings. This includes Holy Week and Easter services.
Funerals in Church will not be possible at this time, but can still be held in the crematorium or at a graveside. Should anyone have a bereavement then please contact a funeral director who will then coordinate arrangements. As always we can offer a memorial service later on, or offer an invitation to the annual Advent Service of Thanksgiving and Remembering that is held in the church in December.
Each district Elder will be in touch with their district over the coming days and weeks as part of our pastoral care for each other. Please also continue to be in contact with the Minister if you have any pastoral needs, most contact at this time will be by telephone or email.
There are a great many sources of worship online, including the Church of Scotland website. However there is also Radio 4’s Sunday worship at 8.10am each Sunday! (other Radio stations are also available…) If you have any favourite resources then let the minister know and we can put a list on the church website.
The church office is now closed, but emails and answer machine are checked regularly by the Church Administrator.
